Japan Loves Their Stuff in the Shape of Other Stuff

By bulletproofglace

Square watermelons are such old news that The Simpsons talked about them, like, years ago when I still cared about watching new episodes of The Simpsons, so don’t think that this is about square watermelons, cause it’s not. It’s about this which is kind of like a square watermelon except that instead of a square shape it is a human head shape – delicious!

This is a picture of an (adorable!) affront to nature.

Human head shape is a bit of a stretch, unless you think that Mr. Potato Head holds an undistorted mirror up to nature (which these people clearly do as they describe the melon as “so lifelike, you might not be able to bear actually cutting into it”). Japan doesn’t stop at shaping melons like heads, though – they’ve also worked their magic (restrictive plastic tubing) on cucumbers. Finally you can garnish your salad with vegetable flavored hearts and stars without having to cut the shapes out yourself, just like God intended. Yay! So Cute!!! Gross.
